1. Listen carefully and be prepared.
2. Enjoy a positive attitude.
3. Always follow directions the first time.
4. Respect others and their property.
5. Never give less than your best.
CLASSROOM PLAN- I follow the "Whole Brain Teaching" concepts which have 5 basic behavior rules:
Rule #1- Follow directions quickly
Rule #2- Raise your hand for permission to speak
Rule #3- Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat
Rule #4- Make smart choices
Rule #5- Make your dear teacher happy (my favorite!)
If a child is having difficulty following any of these rules, then a Red
"I Did Not Make Smart Choices" Note will be sent home with the
area(s) of concern and comments noted. It is to be signed and
returned the next day. Please discuss with your child
why they got the note, and what they feel they can do
to "Make Smart Choices" in the future.
I am trying to empower your child to take responsibility for the
choices they make and the consequences or rewards of those choices.
I appreciate your supporting my plan.

*When asking for something, say "Please."
*When receiving something, say "Thank You."
*Do not interrupt adults who are speaking with each other unless
there is an emergency. They will notice you and respond when
they are done.
*If you do need somebody's attention right away, the phrase
"excuse me" is the most polite way for you to enter
the conversation.
*Don't call people mean names.
*Do not comment on other people's physical characteristics
unless, of course, it's to compliment them, which is
always welcome.
*Do not make fun of anyone for any reason. Teasing shows
others you are weak, and ganging up on someone else is cruel.
*If you bump into somebody, immediately say "Excuse Me."
*Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and don't
pick your nose in public.
*As you walk through a door, look to see if you can hold it
open for someone else.
*When someone helps you, say "thank you." That person will
likely want to help you again.
This is especially true with teachers!
OUR CLASSROOM COMMUNITY-
 A classroom community where everyone feels comfortable and safe is of utmost importance. It is important to spend time building a classroom community so that the students are in the best learning environment possible. There are several different things that I will do as a teacher in order to build a classroom community.
First of all, in my classroom the students and I will devise classroom rules that will help make the classroom a safe and comfortable learning environment. Every child will have a voice and will be given the opportunity to express what rules they think are most important to have.
Also, in my classroom respect for one another will be expected and bullying will not be permitted. The students have to be respectful of one another in order to build a classroom community where everyone feels comfortable and appreciated.
